Work in progress: Reading skills

Academic reading and reading academic texts is different compared to reading for pleasure. The ability to access academic texts by reading (literacy) is a key competence in the humanities and we encourage you to thoroughly train this skill.

In workshops, we plan to discuss strategies that can help you kick-start the process of reading academic texts independently, reduce possible frustration but also prevent possible underestimation of this process. In addition, these strategies can help you to clearly comprehend arguments, central questions and theses.
